TV Show Suggestions Based on Your Mood

Do you ever need a good TV show recommendation from an actual person? Then this article is for you.

As an avid TV watcher, I have a lot of suggestions. I decided to put all that watching to some good use by sharing some of my top recommendations with you all.

Everyone watches TV in different ways. Some people watch passively or casually while others watch more seriously and seek out the shows of quality. What I watch depends heavily on my mood at the time, and I think a lot of people work that way.

Yes, the cheesy rom-com with Sandra Bullock might not have a high score on Rotten tomatoes, but sometimes, some of us are in the mood for a cheesy rom-com with Sandra Bullock.

There are no judgments here. When I talk about media I tend to focus more on the genre and the mood of the content rather than blanket ideas about what is "good" and what is not.

Are You Feeling Happy and Laid Back?

When I'm in this mood I need something to watch that is also happy and laid back. Shows with heavier content are hard to watch all the time. Sometimes you need something more chill and fun to enjoy what you're watching and maybe have a few laughs.

  • New Girl

  • Schitt's Creek

  • The IT Crowd

  • Community

  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine

  • How I Met Your Mother

  • Scrubs

  • The Office

  • Wings

  • The Great British Baking Show

Are You Hungry for Drama?

Do you need to watch something ridiculous and exciting right now? Sometimes our brains just really need the intrigue of a crazy drama that promises epic twists, turns, and surprises.

  • Jane the Virgin

  • Reign

  • The Magicians

  • Outlander

  • Pretty Little Liars

  • Into the Badlands

  • The Shanara Chronicles

  • Riverdale

  • The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Are You Looking for Some Depth?

Sometimes what we crave in a TV show is depth. Depth allows us to really settle into our TV watching and binge something you can become fully immersed in. If you think about TV shows based on a meter of how much you can scroll on your phone while watching, this list would be for those who don't want to idly phone scroll while they "watch," but want to really get invested.

  • Glow

  • Maniac

  • The Good Place

  • Harlots

  • Killing Eve

  • Demon Slayer

  • The Last Man on Earth

  • The Great

In Conclusion,

If you're a lover of stories like me then television might be a big part of your life. I find that there is a lot to learn about storytelling in TV shows. But I've also found that it's important to be respectful of your moods when it comes to the media you consume so that you don't put yourself into a downward spiral by watching something heavy that you weren't ready for.
